Chief Of Army Staff Commissions Special Intervention Projects In Edo State

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has called on the residents of Evbuarhue community in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State to collaborate with the Nigerian Army and other security agencies to create a safe and secure environment conducive to socio-economic development.

The COAS, represented by Major General ND Shagaya, Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport, delivered this message during the commissioning and handover of the Chief of Army Staff’s Special Intervention Civil-Military Cooperation Projects (CSICP) in Evbuarhue on Thursday, December 5, 2024. Executed by Major General KO Osemwigie, the projects comprise a newly constructed Community Health Center and refurbished classroom blocks at Aghimieh Primary School.

The COAS reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s dedication to tackling security challenges through non-kinetic strategies while enhancing the well-being of host communities. These initiatives aim to strengthen the Army’s relationship with the civil populace and foster mutual trust and collaboration across the country. He urged the community to take ownership of the projects and maintain them for long-term benefits.

The Chief of Civil-Military Affairs (Army), Major General NC Ugbo, represented by Brigadier General BS Keji, extended appreciation to the COAS for approving the funds necessary for the project. The community, in turn, lauded the Nigerian Army for its efforts and pledged continued support and loyalty
