CIC Decorates Newly Promoted Officer; Sends Off The Corps RSM

The Commander Infantry Corps (CIC) Nigerian Army (NA) Maj Gen OO Oluyede has decorated the newly promoted officer- Lt AO Oropo with his new badge of Capt Rank on Tue 25 Jul 23.

The event, which was held at the Conference Room of the Headquarters Infantry Corps Centre (HQ ICC) witnessed the presence of senior officers, officers and wife of the newly promoted officer.

In his remarks, the CIC admonished the newly promoted officer, who is also Aide De Camp to the CIC and other officers at the event to continue working diligently and relentlessly for the betterment of themselves, family, NA and the nation at large.

He urged all to make it a priority to add value to the NA, adding that the NA appreciates hardwork and also rewards it.

Meanwhile, the CIC has congratulated the outgoing Corps Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) AWO Abiodun Ayanwale on the completion of 35 years in service.

Maj Gen Oluyede made this known during a colourful send off ceremony in honour of the outgoing RSM held at the conference room of the HQ ICC on Tue 25 Jul 23.

The CIC said the RSM needed to be celebrated for a job well done as well as attaining the rank of AWO. He advised the outgoing RSM to always make himself happy after retirement.

The CIC further encouraged the soldiers of the Corps to keep up their good work and be their brothers’ keepers.

Highlights of the ceremony were the presentation of gift item and cash to the outgoing RSM and taking of group photographs.
