Commandant NDA Visits GOC 1 Division, Congratulates Him On His Recent Appointment As GOC

The Commandant Nigerian Defence Academy(NDA), Maj Gen JO Ochai has visited the General Officer Commanding(GOC) 1 Division Nigerian Army(NA) and Force Commander Operation WHIRL PUNCH, Maj Gen MLD Saraso at the Division Headquarters in Kawo Kaduna on 14 March 2024.

Gen Ochai remarked that his visit was to congratulate Gen Saraso on his well deserved appointment as the GOC of the premier Division of the NA. He stressed that he and his management team were at the Division to familiarise themselves with the GOC and commend him for his achievement as Commander Sector 2 North East operation Hadin Kai and to as well wish him a successful tour of duty as GOC 1 Division.

In his remarks, the GOC thanked the Commandant and his management team for the visit despite his very tight schedule stating that the commandant was the first visitor he was receiving since assumption of command and thanked him most sincerely for the rare privilege.

Gen Saraso promised that he and his team would do their best not to let down the confidence reposed on them by the Chief of Army Staff in tackling the insecurity situation bedevilling the Division’s Area of Responsibility.

Highlights of the visit were signing of visitors’ book, presentation of souvenirs and group photographs.
