Commander 17 Brigade Nigerian Army Donates Fertilizer To Farmers Within The Brigade AOR
To reaffirms Commitment in ensuring Food Security Through Civil – Military Cooperation and foster good relations with host communities while contributing to food security and sustainable development.
The Commander 17 Brigade Nigerian Army Brigadier General BO Omopariola Donated fertilizer to farmers within Natsinta, Katoge, Garke, Dan Nageba, Sarkin Aiki and Tsangaya communities within Jibia Local Government Area (LGA) of Katsina State.The exercise was aimed at boosting agricultural productivity, alleviating the burden on local farmers, and encouraging self-reliance within the communities, which is in line with the Chief of Army Staff Command Philosophy “Transforming the Nigerian Army into a well-motivated, combat-ready, and highly effective force capable of fulfilling its constitutional duties within a joint environment.”
The Brigade Commander further reiterated the importance of the non-kinetic initiative and also thanked the Chief of Army Staff for finding the communities within the 17 Brigade Area of responsibility worthy beneficiary, He implored the farmers to make best use of the products towards ensuring higher yield.
The District head of Natsinta community Alhaji Daiyabu while expressing appreciation to the Commander 17 Brigade NA, described the gesture as first of its kind, timely and assured that the inputs would significantly boost food production and enhance the livelihood of farmers in the area.
He urged his subjects to continue supporting the troops in the attainment of the OPFY mandate.
The event was attended by community leaders, members of the host community and among others, all of whom lauded the Brigade Commander’s proactive approach to community development and resilience and strengthen the farmers resolve to their farms amidst ongoing operations targeted at making farming communities safe.
