Commander 6 Brigade Boosts Public Confidence With Strategic Operational Visit To Taraba Community
As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen public trust and maintain peace and security in Taraba State, the Commander 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, has carried out a strategic operational visit to Bandawa community in Karim Lamido Local Government Area (LGA).
The visit, which took place today 12 May 2025, follows a recent unfortunate clash between a farmer and a herder, which tragically resulted in the death of the farmer. Addressing this incident during his meeting with the District Head of Bandawa, Alhaji Yusau Seria, Brigadier General Uwa strongly condemned the act of violence and warned against individuals or groups taking the law into their own hands.
Reaffirming the military’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, General Uwa assured the community that the Nigerian Army will intensify its presence in the area to forestall further clashes and restore the confidence of residents, especially farmers and business owners.
“The safety and confidence of the people remain a top priority,” the Commander stated. “We are here to reassure you that the Nigerian Army is committed to ensuring peace and stability. Law-abiding citizens must feel safe to go about their daily activities without fear.”
In his remarks, the District Head of Bandawa, Alhaji Yusau Seria, a retired military personnel, expressed appreciation for the timely visit and commended Brigadier General Uwa for his proactive leadership. He noted that the presence of the Brigade Commander in the community has significantly boosted the morale of the people. “I am grateful for this visit and for the reassurance it brings to my people,” the District Head said. “You have demonstrated genuine commitment to peace, and I assure you of my continued support, especially in the area of providing credible intelligence.”
During the visit, Brigadier General Uwa also interacted with local stakeholders, community leaders, and residents, addressing prevailing security concerns and inspecting troop deployments in the area. He commended the troops on ground for their professionalism and dedication to duty, emphasizing the importance of discipline, vigilance, and cooperation with host communities.
