Commander Corps Of Ordinance Visits 6 Division Commends GOC For Support To Formations Under Command

The Commander Corps of Ordnance (CCORD), Major General Abdullahi Ibrahim, has visited 6 Division, Nigerian Army (NA), where he commended the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 6 Division Nigerian, NA, Major General Emmanuel Eric Emekah, for his sustained support to formations and units under the Division. He gave the commendation during a familiarisation visit to ordnance formations and units under 6 Division on 17 April 2026.

Major General Ibrahim congratulated the GOC on the successful hosting of the recently concluded Nigerian Army First Senior Command and Leadership Seminar 2026 held at the Python Officers’ Mess. He noted that the seminar would add significant value to leadership capacity and command effectiveness across the NA.

Speaking further, the CC Ord stated that the purpose of his visit was to assess the level of logistics support available to ordnance formations and units within the Division, as well as identify areas requiring intervention to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

He further commended the leadership of the GOC, Staff Officers, and troops of the Division for their commitment to the protection of lives and property, as well as the safeguarding of critical national infrastructure in the Niger Delta region.

While, welcoming the CC Ord, the GOC, Major General Emekah, appreciated him for the visit. He noted that the visit was unique in view of the fact that it came shortly after the successful hosting of the First Senior Command and Leadership Seminar. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting formations and units within the Division to enable them perform their assigned roles effectively.

The GOC, emphasized that the NA possesses the capacity to meet its operational requirements within existing structures, stressing his commitment to optimally utilize available resources within the NA.

He further noted that 6 Division is one of the relatively young Divisions in the NA and still requires additional infrastructure and facilities. He therefore appealed for continued support towards the development of ordnance formations and units within the Division.
