
Commander Infantry Corps Major General GM Mutkut Pays Maiden Visit To The Commander AFCSC
Major General GM Mutkut, the newly appointed Commander Infantry Corps (CIC), today 4 December 2025 paid a maiden courtesy visit to the Commandant of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Air Vice Marshal HI Alhaji.
The CIC stated that the core purpose of his visit was to formally introduce himself as the new Commander Infantry Corps. He noted that his visit to the premier military institution is part of a time-honored tradition that has been consistently upheld by his predecessors over the years, signifying the strong relationship between the Corps and the College.
During the visit, Major General Mutkut acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the AFCSC in the professional development and moulding of officers into effective military leaders. He expressed gratitude for the College’s continued support to the Infantry Corps, recognizing its role as a bedrock of operational military education.
Concluding his remarks, Major General Mutkut pledged his commitment to further strengthening the collaboration between the two institutions. He promised to build on the robust legacy established by his predecessors in galvanizing both the Infantry Corps and the Armed Forces Command and Staff College for mutual advancement and success.
In his response, Air Vice Marshal HI Alhaji, the Commandant AFCSC, extended a warm welcome to Major General Mutkut and commended the CIC for maintaining the established tradition of courtesy visits. Air Vice Marshal Alhaji stated that the College deeply values its relationship with the Infantry Corps, describing the Corps as a critical stakeholder in the College’s mandate. He assured the CIC of the College’s continuous dedication to providing high-quality training and supporting the Corps’ objectives, noting that the AFCSC remains committed to equipping future leaders of the Corps with the necessary operational and command skills.
