Cristiano Ronaldo is Angry, but he’ll Stay – Real President Perez
As speculation continues to mount over the future of Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has stated that the superstar will stay at the club, even though he believes he is angry.
Ronaldo stunned Europe when he demanded to leave Madrid this summer following allegations of tax evasion by authorities in Spain.
Manchester United and Paris Saint Germain emerged as favourites to land the wantaway 32-year-old, who has strongly denied any wrongdoing as regards his taxes.
And Perez has admitted that Ronaldo is upset, presumably with the club for failing to give him a more vigorous backing, but says he thinks the superstar will not leave the European champions, Goal writes.
“I know Cristiano is angry, but I think he will stay,” Perez told esRadio.
“I haven’t spoken with him,” Perez said of Ronaldo. “The only thing that has to be done is to wait and talk after the Confederations [Cup].”
Ronaldo is currently away on international duty with Portugal at the Fifa Confederations Cup in Russia, and the Madrid president said while he’s yet to speak to him directly, he’s been in communication with the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes.
“I have spoken with Mendes about him. No need to worry more than [is needed].”
“He is a man of integrity and has fulfilled with his duties,” Perez said. “There are many people who have wanted to hurt him with taxes and other topics and he feels it.”
