Dan-Musa, Calls For Closer Collaboration Between EFCC and ICPC

The Head of South East Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Adamu Hamisu Dan-Musa has called for a closer and more effective collaboration between EFCC and the Independence Corrupt and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, which he describes as two sisters of the same father.

Dan-Musa made the call on Wednesday March 21, 2018 while receiving Bar. Amedu Sule, the Commissioner, Enugu Zonal office of ICPC who paid him a courtesy visit at his office in Independence Layout, Enugu.

“No agency can fight corruption alone, we need to work together in sharing intelligence and mapping out strategies on how to tackle our common enemies the corrupt people in our country”, Musa said.

He further saud that “EFCC and ICPC being the foremost anti-graft agencies in the country means that expectations of Nigerians are high with regards to the eradication of the malaise called corruption and this fight is not just for us but for the country’s well being as well.”

Dan-Musa while promising to reciprocate the visit assured that EFCC was ready at any time to offer any assistance whenever called upon.

Earlier, the ICPC zonal Commissioner had stressed that closer relationship of the two organizations will enhance the quality of related work that are common to the two agencies.

“Though I am new in Enugu, but even at Abuja, we have heard positive things with regards to your office here at Enugu regarding the work you do.”

“We are here to extend our hands of solidarity and ask for a continuation of the existing cordial relationship between our two organizations.“ Sule stated.

The ICPC boss who asserted that those who wonder why the two organisations must exist side by side do not seem to appreciate the enormous work needed to tackle corruption as a phenomenon which must be done from all fronts.

High point of the visit was the decoration of the ICPC Commissioner by his host with the EFCC branded Lapel.

Present at the visit were ICPC Assistant Commissioner, Ahiagwu Nathaniel; Bar. Okoro Dennis and Nzebunachi Chukwuma with some senior officials of EFCC.
