DG NARC Inaugurates Adaptive Leadership Course Amid Shifting Global Norms and Geopolitical Competition In Africa

The Director General of the Nigerian Army Resource Centre (NARC), Major General J G K Myam (rtd) OFR, on Tuesday, 28 April 2026, inaugurated a course titled “Adaptive Leadership in the Context of Shifting Global Norms, Alliances, and Geopolitical Competition in Africa” at Hall C, TY Buratai Block, Asokoro, Abuja. The course is a collaborative effort between NARC and King’s College London.

Speaking at the inauguration, the Course Coordinator, Professor Randolph Charles Kent, stated that the course is designed to examine adaptive leadership approaches, facilitate the exchange of perspectives, and develop practical solutions to contemporary geopolitical challenges. He noted that the programme aims to foster meaningful collaboration among participants in addressing emerging global and regional dynamics.

In his remarks, the Director General highlighted that the course seeks to examine Nigeria’s geopolitical paradigms, refine participants’ perspectives and enable them to derive maximum benefit from the programme. He thanked the Chairman, Board of Trustees, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, as well as King’s College London and other partners for their contributions towards the successful organisation of the course.

The inauguration ceremony concluded with a group photograph. The course is scheduled to run for five days, from 27 April to 1 May 2026.
