
DICON and DMG Events Sign Memorandum Of Understanding For The Hosting Of Africa Defence Exhibition (Afridex) 2026
The Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) has achieved another strategic partnership milestone during the ongoing African Chiefs of Defence Staff Summit 2025 held at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja. At the event, Major General BI Alaya, Director General of DICON signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with dmg Events, a UK-based company represented by Nick Ornstien, to co-host the first-ever International Defence Exhibition in Lagos, Nigeria.
The exhibition, tagged AFRIDEX 2026, is scheduled to take place from 26 to 29 October 2026. Co-hosted by DICON and dmg Events—a global leader in planning and organising exhibitions—AFRIDEX promises to showcase cutting-edge defence technologies from around the world while strengthening Nigeria’s defence capabilities.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by the Chief of Defence Staff Armed Forces of Nigeria, General CG Musa, OFR and several African Chiefs of Defence Staff, defence attachés, and other distinguished personalities from across the continent. AFRIDEX 2026 is set to become Africa’s premier defence and security platform, bringing together global leaders, innovators, and policymakers to collaborate on strengthening security across the continent. The event will highlight advanced solutions, foster strategic partnerships, and provide a platform for shaping the future of the African defence industry.
The 2026 edition will be the largest defence and security exhibition in Africa, uniting military officials, government representatives, and technology pioneers from across the globe. Designed to inspire collaboration and innovation, the exhibition will offer participants strategic insights, practical tools, and opportunities to transform ideas into action. Both local and international defence companies will showcase their products and services, including armoured vehicles, aircraft, naval vessels, weapons, ammunition, drones and other advanced defence systems.
AFRIDEX 2026 will also create opportunities for Nigerian and African defence manufacturers to exhibit their capabilities, share knowledge, and explore partnerships that can drive critical development within the continent’s defence sector.
