Rapper, Sean “Diddy” Combs is the wealthiest hip hop artiste this 2017, according to Forbes Magazine’s list.

Just as last year, the Bad Boy Entertainment boss sat atop the list with his net worth of $820 million, thanks in part to a lucrative deal he has with Ciroc Vodka and another huge investment in the Revolt TV Network.

Forbes announced its annual list today and the five names on it are pretty much the same from last year only that Shawn “Jay Z” Carter pushed CEO Beats Electronics, Andre “Dr Dre” Young to the third position from his previous number 2 spot.

This is the first time, since 2014, Jay Z ranks ahead of Dr Dre. Mr Carter’s $810 million fortune got a 30% boos after Sprint’s $200 million investment in his music streaming service, Tidal put the company’s value at $600 million. According to Forbes, this is 10 times what Jay paid for Tidal two years ago when he acquired it. Jay Z also owns Roc Nation and a champagne brand he bought in 2014, Armand de Brignac.

Meanwhile, Dr Dre’s net worth stands at $740 million. In 2014, he sold Beats to Apple for $3 billion and it is still paying off massively. Forbes records that Dre’s cut in that deal “gave him the largest single-year payday ever recorded by a living musician“.

The final two on the list are Birdman and Drake. Bryan “Birdman” Williams is worth $110 million and co-owns Cash Money records with his brother. 30-year-old Aubrey “Drake” Graham is the youngest on the list with a net worth of $90 million and deals with Apple, Nike and Sprite. His 2016 album, Views became the first to top 1 billion spins on Apple Music.
