Disregard Photos By Vanguard, LIB, Nigerian Embassy In UK Tells Nigerians
Our attention has been drawn to several online reports, especially Vanguard News and LindaIkeji amongst others, about ongoing protest at the Nigerian embassy in London, UK.
The report stated Nigerians were protesting at the High Commission and demanding to speak with President Mohammadu Buhari.
Though we support free speech and right to peaceful protest, I can confirm that there is no protest taking place at the Nigerian High Commission in London, UK.
The pictures posted online earlier by vanguard, lindaikeji, etc are FAKE and we kindly advise Nigerians and friends of Nigeria to ignore the misleading information.
I spoke with one of the Senior Embassy Ministers and I was made to understand that there has been no disruption in the embassy. “Work is going on as normal. There has been no protest or rally at the Commission today”.
An executive was sent to the High Commission to confirm the event and having watched the video (see below), I can authoritatively confirm that no protest took place at the High Commission today.
We thank Nigerians both at home and abroad for their support thus far, we are aware of the present challenges at home and concerns of Nigerians in the Diaspora. The rebuilding process is ongoing and we appreciate the patience of Nigerians. I want to assure all that this APC-led government will not relent until all promises are fulfilled.
Please see ‘authentic’ pictures below and video recorded at the high commission this afternoon.
