DSS Arrests George Uboh over N1.9 trn Recovered Loot

The Department of State Security (DSS) have arrested and detained the owner of Public Alerts Security Systems, Mr George Uboh over the recovery of looted funds.

Mr. Uboh has allegedly attempted to blackmail the Federal Government into awarding him a multi-billion Naira job to recover over N1.9 trillion stashed away in various banks across the country.

Vanguard reports that Uboh was picked up by DSS operatives Tuesday, with his offices and homes in Maitama, Abuja, thoroughly searched and data-seized in connection to the contract awarded him by the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami to trace looted funds to Nigerian banks.

But the AGF soon terminated Uboh’s contract upon discovery that he’d expanded his brief shortly after getting a Federal Government letter of authority by going ahead to harass the banks, with Malami claiming the job had been given in error.

In a letter to President Muhammad Buhari detailing the reasons for terminating the contract, the AGF alleged that new information emerged that Uboh had been jailed by a court in the United States and recently in Abuja for fraud-related issues.

Uboh has since reacted badly to the squashing of the deal, attacking the AGF of standing in the way of the fight against corruption and going on television savage the Federal Government.

There are speculations the DSS would charge him to court for sundry criminal offences relating to the expansion of his brief to extort money from Nigerians.
