EFCC and CCB Have Exclusively Mutual Goal Of Fighting Corruption – Magu

The Acting Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu has identified the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) as one of the agencies whose mandate is in line with the Commission’s vision of eradicating corruption in the country.

Magu made the observation on Tuesday ,October 23rd,2018 through the Zonal Head of the Commission in the South East, Adamu Hamisu Danmusa when he paid a courtesy visit to the Enugu State Director of the Bureau, Mrs Lucy I. Ijetta at the Bureau’s office within the Federal Secretariat Commplex in Independence Layout,Enugu.

“ We thank you for having us here and I must say that CCB is a very important segment in nigerian government and in the fight against corruption.” DanMusa said

He stressed that the Bureau was very important to the work the Commission does such that it was not just a partner but a partner in progress with regards to the anti-graft war.

“ You are contributing significantly in the work we are doing as intelligence from your organisation have always been helpful in investigations of our cases.” He said.

The zonal head said the visit was in line with section 6 (J) of the EFCC Act which recognizes the need for collaboration with sister agencies of government with analogous interests.

Speaking while receiving the zonal head, Mrs Ijetta thanked the zonal head for the visit saying it was significant.

“ I have never for once left your request unattended to as we have always and swiftly sent feedback on those requests . We are sisters of the same father and in whatever way we can be of help,please feel free to tell us.” She declared.

While commending the visit as an opportunity for the two organisations to work effectively,Ijetta further disclosed that the visit had given her a strong assurance that she could always rely on the commission to deal promptly on any issue brought by her office.

Highlight of the visit was an exchange of official materials by both organisations.
