EFCC Has Raised Standards In Fight Against Corruption – Public Complaints Commission

According to him, the works of the EFCC has raised greater consciousness of integrity and accountability in Nigerians. “The EFCC has raised standards in its fight against corruption. The mentality of the people is changing now because of what the EFCC is doing”, he said.

According to the Commissioner, his visit was to create partnership and collaboration between the two agencies, “I am here to register the presence of the Public Complaints Commission and to let you know that our Commission is ready to work together with the EFCC to ensure that we set Rivers State and the entire nation on a path of better development”, he said. He also stated that the role of the PCC was to fight against administrative injustice in Nigeria.

In his response, Head of Port Harcourt Operations of the EFCC, Mr. Nnaghe Obono Itam, expressed the willingness of the Commission to work hand in hand with the Public Complaints Commission, in order to fight corruption and administrative injustice in Nigeria.

Itam called on Nigerians to continue to support both agencies in the performance of their duties. According to him, the EFCC was determined to continue to do its best in the discharge of its duties. “We are looking at where we were before and where we are today gives a clear perspective of where we are going”, he said.

He assured the PCC of synergy and positive relations, stressing that, “the leadership of Ibrahim Magu in the EFCC has recorded several achievements and has brought a good reputation to the Commission despite all the challenges.

The PCC Commissioner was accompanied in his visit by Mr. Kue Bonaventure, Mr Adokiye Iworima, Mrs Berth A. Iworima and Josephine Okoroba, information officer.
