The reputation of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, as one of the most effective, result oriented and progress driven government organization in Nigeria was reiterated on Friday 20th July, 2018 at the EFCC Academy, Karu, Abuja.

The Head, Research Department, EFCC Academy, Karu, Abuja, Abiodun Adebanjo representing the Commandant of the Academy, Dr David Tukura made this known during an excursion visit by students from the Economics Department of Modibbo Adamawa University, Yola, Adamawa State to the Commission.

“Notable Nigerians and our global stakeholders recognize the EFCC as the foremost government organization in the fight against corruption even in the mist of inadequate funding.

A former Director General of the Bureau for Public Service Reforms in his thesis on “Strong Institutions in Weak States” for the award of a Phd, boldly stated that the EFCC is the most effective government Agency in Nigeria” Adebanjo said.

The students who took turns to ask various questions such as what the EFCC does with recovered loot, how does the EFCC fight piracy of intellectual properties, what does the EFCC do about nepotism in the award of contract were enlightened about the operations, mandate and activities of the Commission aimed at curbing cybercrime, economic and financial crimes.

Adebanjo concluded by charging the students to imbibe and propagate attitudinal change as the bedrock of a corrupt free Nigeria.

“We are most grateful to the EFCC for receiving us and taking the time to enlighten us on its operations. We are better informed about economic and financial crimes now than before we came here” said the President, Association of Economic Students, Modibbo Adamawa University, Yola, Adamawa State, Abdulrahman Sheriff in his remark.

The team was led by the Course Co-ordinator, Mathew Oladipo Gidigbi.
