As part of activities to mark World Anti-Corruption Day, the Benin Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in conjunction with some members of the National Youth Service Corps, provided free medical service for children, women and the aged in Oko Amakom community, near Asaba in Oshimili local government area, Delta State.

Dr. Collins Eseosa Eguakun, a Youth Corp member and Team Leader, led a host of other Corp members who were medical personnel serving in the State to carry out the medical outreach.

The team carried out blood pressure test, sugar level test, eye test and others. The NYSC doctors also treated patients for common ailments such as malarial and water borne diseases. Children in the community were also dewormed. On why he organised the medical outreach, Eguakun said he was moved by the plight of the people who could not afford medical care.

While the doctor engaged the people of the community in medical exercise, the Commission sensitized and enlightened the people on the ills of corruption through the distribution of information, education and communication materials.

Edmond Nwanwua, the Head of the community commended the Corp members and the EFCC for their effort in restoring health to the community and the nation.
