EFCC Reveals The Mysterious Twitter Handler

For some time now, Nigerians, mostly those active on social media, have been preoccupied with finding out the true identity of the man/woman behind the official twitter handle of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC).

At a time of crushing economic realities for Nigerians and an even more depressing political landscape, the handle, @officialefcc, became a refreshing release for many with the sheer whimsy of its approach to information dissemination/crime fighting.

It added a humane outlook to the dreaded EFCC, bringing a great deal of following to the account, as Nigerians, in spite of themselves, warmed up to the Ibrahim Magu-led anti-graft agency.

While there are debates over the humorous way the tweets were written and its suitability for a crime-fighting institution, the desire to put a face to the tweets swept across the country with feverish intensity.

That wait ended on Monday as the EFCC finally unveiled their twitter handler in the person of F.SHAW (@FshawKingFisher). Only, it was somewhat anticlimactic as he’d just left the job!
