Eminem Delivers Emotional Performance at the 2017 MTV EMAs: Full List Of Winners

Everyone is talking about Eminem again and it is like hip-hop went on hiatus and only just returned with him.

Last night at the 2017 MTV EMAs, the rapper set the tone for the ceremony with an emotional performance of his song, Walk on Water, featuring Beyonce. However at the event, Beyonce was replaced by another singer, Skyla Grey, as she is still nursing her twin babies.

Back to Eminem: the rapper delivered his fiery lines in which he ruminates about the expectations from his fans who have elevated him to the status of a god, and he tells them that he is simply human like them, that he makes mistakes and is always afraid of failing, like them.

“It’s the curse of the standard/That the first of the Mathers discs set/Always in search of the verse that I haven’t spit yet/Will this step just be another misstep,” he raps.

Same night, Em was announced the winner of the hip-hop category and he didn’t know why; he was absolutely lost for words but still managed to say thanks to those who have stayed by his side, including his fans.

It was interesting that Tayloy Swift, though she led the nominees list, did not get any award last night. And for the Best African Act, as we had earlier reported(that part of the show was held before the ceremony proper), Davido beat Wizkid and other acts to emerge the winner.
