Etsu Nupe Visits Operation Hadin Kai Headquarters, Praises Military’s Sacrifices

In a historic visit, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Dr. Yahaya Abubakar CFR, Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Traditional Council, has commended Nigerian military’s unwavering commitment and gallantry in service to the nation. He paid tribute to the officers and men at the Headquarters Theatre Command Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Maimalari Cantonment Maiduguri, on Saturday 27 July 2024.

Dr. Abubakar, a retired Brigadier General, acknowledged the enormity of the country’s security challenges, but expressed optimism in overcoming them with divine guidance. He praised the current crop of officers for their dedication and sacrifices, echoing his satisfaction with the progress made. He appreciated the Theatre Commander and the officers for their invaluable contributions in securing the North East.

Earlier, the Theatre Commander, Major General Waidi Shaibu, welcomed the royal father and his entourage, expressing that the visit was a memorable one. He provided an overview of the operations which metamorphosed from Operation BOYONA to the current Operation HADIN KAI, emphasizing the collaborative efforts of the land, maritime, air components and other security agencies to address the North East region’s security challenges. He assured that the theatre command will continue to live up to its established goals of achieving the mandate of OPHK.

The visit culminated in a standing ovation, honouring the royal father’s leadership and mentorship, presentation of souvenirs and group photographs, symbolizing the strong bond between the military and traditional institutions.
