Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command Commissions 20 Room Senior Rate Accommodation At Forward Operating Base Bonny

On Wednesday, 14 January 2026, the Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command (FOC ENC), Rear Admiral Chidozie Donald Okehie, accompanied by the Command Operations Officer, Rear Admiral Chinonyerem Oji, and the Commander NNS PATHFINDER, Rear Admiral Cajethan Aniaku, commissioned a 20-room Senior Rates’ Lodge at FOB BONNY. The project, which commenced on 22 August 2025 and was completed on 30 December 2025, was designed to improve personnel welfare and address long-standing accommodation challenges within the Base.

The commissioning ceremony featured the formal unveiling of the newly constructed lodge, followed by a detailed inspection of the facility led by the Commanding Officer FOB BONNY, Commodore Emmanuel Fingesi. The new accommodation is expected to significantly enhance the living conditions of senior rates, thereby boosting morale and operational effectiveness at the Base.

In his remarks, Rear Admiral Okehie commended the Commanding Officer FOB BONNY for his initiative, foresight, and commitment to personnel welfare. He urged the beneficiaries to ensure proper maintenance of the facility in order to justify the resources, efforts, and sacrifices invested by the Base in delivering the project.
