Fraud: Court Convicted Three for Cheating

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, secured the conviction of Ahmed Mustapha, Bukar Abubakar Gana and Musa Salihu on a-two count amended charge before Justice Fadawu Umar of the Borno. State High Court Maiduguri, for the offence of Conspiracy and cheating to the tune of Three Million Naira (N3m).

Mustapha, a staff of Airtel Network Limited, was the Shop Manager/Supervisor in charge of Borno, while Gana was a staff of First City Monument Bank, (FCMB) and Salihu is a student of Health Technology in Maiduguri, Borno State.

Mustapha, sometime in 2016 allegedly conspired with Gana and Salihu and diverted the sum of N 3m, which one Ali Abba was said to have won in an Airtel promo.‎

The accused persons pleaded guilty upon arraignment ‎and were convicted accordingly.

Justice Umar sentenced the convicts to two years imprisonment with a fine of N100, 000 and two years in imprisonment in default of the fine for the offence of Cheating”
