

Gen Saraso Hosts Farewell Ceremony For 13 Posted Out Officers
The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 1 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Sector 1 Joint Task Force (North-West), Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Major General Mayirenso Lander David Saraso, hosted a farewell ceremony to honour 13 officers who completed their tours of duty and were recently posted out from the Division. The event took place on Friday 24 January 2025, at the Division Officers’ Mess Annex in Kawo, Kaduna.
The outgoing senior officers and a young officer included; Maj Gen H Yanet, outgoing Commander 51 Signals Brigade and President 1 Division Officers’ Mess Committee, Brigadier General HD Bobbo who is the outgoing Commander 31 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General AT Lawal, the outgoing Commander 402 Special Forces Brigade, Brigadier General T Ahmed outgoing Commander 18 Brigade, Brigadier General SS Shehu, outgoing Chief of Staff Headquarters Sector 1 Operations FANSAN YAMMA, Brigadier General AM Kitchener, the posted out Commander 1 Division Finance and Accounts and Brigadier General NS Onuchukwu the outgoing Chief Medical Director 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital Kaduna. Others were Lt Col LA Balogun, Lt Col U Adamu, Lt Col GE Ameh, Lt Col M Almakura, Lt Col MY Wase and Lt OV Ajibolade respectively.
In his remarks at the event, Major General Saraso commended the posted out officers for their significant contributions to the Division’s achievements during their tenure. He painstakingly mentioned with pride and great satisfaction the immense contributions of each of the posted out officers to the successes recorded by the Division under his watch. He further encouraged all newly posted in officers as well as other officers in the Division to emulate the exemplary efforts, dedication to duties and commitments of the posted out officers to the successes recorded in the Division. The GOC also charged the posted out officers to carry same vigor and agility to their new places of deployments and as well, remain good ambassadors of the Stallion family. Finally, he wished the posted out officers success in their future endeavours and journey mercies to their respective destinations.
In his vote of thanks on behalf of all the posted out officers, Maj Gen H Yanet expressed gratitude to God for the successful completion of their tours of duty and appreciated the GOC for his mentorship and guidance. He praised the Gen Saraso for prioritizing the welfare of his officers and men and commended the tremendous operational successes the Division recorded under his leadership. He pledged that he and his posted-out colleagues will forever remain worthy ambassadors of the Division wherever they find themselves.
The ceremony featured presentations of gifts and souvenirs, as well as group photographs.
