General Alabi Inaugurates Exercise Shinning Star Course 4/2023

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division Nigerian Army(NA) and Force Commander Operation WHIRL PUNCH (OPWP), Maj Gen BA Alabi has today Friday,18 August 2023 inaugurated student’s of Exercise Shinning Star Course 4/ 2023 at the 1 Division Training School, Dalet Barracks, Kawo Kaduna.

In his remarks at the event, the GOC who was represented by the Chief of Staff 1 Division, Brig Gen MK Gara congratulated the students for their nomination to take part in the training which he said would accord them the opportunity to develop their abilities to effectively deliver their constitutional responsibilities as soldiers.

He reiterated that the Course is in line with the Chief Of Army Staff quest for realistic training in the NA which necessitated the Course codename EX SHINNING STAR to train troops to counter insecurity. He thanked the COAS, Lt Gen TA Lagbaja NAM for making available the resources for the training and several other interventions to the Division.

Earlier in his remarks, the Acting Division Training Officer, Maj BN Lander welcomed the representative of the GOC and other guests and applauded the continuous support of the GOC to the Division Training School. He added that the Course consists of a total of 102 students (1 officer and 101 soldiers) drawn from various units and formations within 1 Division Area of Responsibility.
