GOC 1 Division Graduates Students Of Exercise Shining Star IV, Urges Them To Develop Team Spirit and Mental Alertness

The General Officer Commanding (GOC)1 Division, Maj Gen VU Okoro has graduated the students of Ex SHINING STAR IV today 29 September 2023, at the Division’s Training School, Kawo, Kaduna.

The GOC who was represented by the Division’s Chief of Staff, Brig Gen MK Gara urged the graduands to develop team spirit and mental alertness in order to enhance battle skills as military personnel.

He further stated that, ” The Chief of Army Staff(COAS) in his wisdom to bring training home as well as to enable formations train as they fight, approved the EXERCISE SHINING STAR for each Quarter of 2023 Training Year. You must therefore consider yourslves lucky and privileged to be among the beneficiaries in this year’s training cycle.”

The graduands had series of field training exercises both day and night. They were also introduced to Improvised Explosive Devices(IED), navigation by day and night, Watermanship and basic motorcycle operations among others.

The GOC urged the graduands to bring to bear the experiences they have gained during the course in all their assigned tasks.

He reminded them to adhere strictly to code of conduct and rules of engagement in all the operations they would be undertaken henceforth.

Highpoints of the event were demonstrations by the graduands, presentation of certificates/plaque and a group photograph.
