The General Officer Commanding 2 Division Nigerian Army (GOC), Maj Gen BA Alabi has lauded the Zonal Coordinator Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA) 4 Brigade Chapter Mrs Hassina Ndahi for contributing towards improving educational standards in Edo State. The GOC made the commendation at the commissioning of a newly constructed Ultra-Modern Library in Ekehuan Montessori Nursery and Primary School on 28 September 2023.

In his remarks, Maj Gen Alabi who was the Special Guest of Honour at the occasion appreciated the project facilitator Mrs Hassina Ndahi for a well thought out and beautifully executed project. He said anyone who thinks of contribution in education is definitely building towards a greater generation. The Library project according to him “is indeed a very laudable project”. He further thanked the facilitator for the initiative and all those who contributed to the project.

The GOC, therefore urged the school management to ensure the sustenance of the Library and to also encourage the pupils to make use of the Library as a matter of routine. The GOC subsequently supported the school with a token contribution of One Million Naira for the purchase of books in the Library.

The Zonal Coordinator NAOWA 4 Brigade Chapter Mrs Hassina Ndahi during her remarks said; she embarked on the project for the sake of humanity because “education is not preparation for life; but is life itself”. She noted that the Library that has been commissioned is a culmination of several efforts. She commended the Chairperson NAOWA 2 Division Mrs Sikira Alabi for her support towards the project. She also appreciated the Commander 4 Brigade Nigerian Army Brig Gen DH Ndahi for his financial and moral support and every other individual who contributed books to the Library.

Earlier, the GOC visited 4 Brigade Garrison and 322 Artillery Regiment at the Nigerian Army Cantonment, Ekehuan where he was briefed by the Commanding Officers Lt Col A Chinedu and Lt Col AO Adewara.
