GOC 2 Division Visits Chairman BOVAS, Strengthens Civil Military Relations

The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 2 Division, Nigerian Army (NA) Major General Bamidele Alabi has pledged to consolidate and improve on the long standing relations the Division shares with BOVAS. The GOC made this pledge when he paid a courtesy visit to the Chaimen, BOVAS and Company Limited, Architect Olusegun Sampson, at the company’s head office located at Bodija housing corporation estate, secretariat Road, Ibadan, Oyo state.

The GOC expressed gratitude to the Chairman for the cordial relationship and support the Division has shares the company. He observed that the company’s partnership with 2 Division has sustained the activities of Tiger Golf Club for which the Division is grateful.

The GOC pointed out that participating in a game of Golf is a sure means of socializing with the Barrack community. He consequently enjoyed the chairman and members of staff to take advantage of the Tiger Golf Course to exercise and improve their mental health.

He described the Tiger Golf Club as one of the facilities 2 Division uses in reaching out to the General public. He added that the Division is happy to have maintained this relationship through BOVAS’ support. He prayed for an improved and more profitable relationship.”

The GOC equally noted the company’s relevance in the society in it’s prompt and effective delivery of petroleum products to citizens of Oyo state and beyond.

Responding to the GOC, Achitect Bamidele Olusegun Sampson, thanked the GOC for making out time out of his busy schedule to pay him and his members of staff a courtesy visit. He said the visit could not have been at a better time than now, when the nation and its citizens need to build a stronger relationship in order to surmount the current challenges facing the nation.

“I never knew there was a Golf Club in Ibadan, let a lone in the Barracks. My Son told me about it and encouraged me to support the activities of the Club as the company’s corporate social responsibility. It is a privilege to be partnering with 2 Division in this regard, and we are happy for the opportunity, he said.

The Chairman also commended the GOC, for opening the gates of the Division in accommodating the civil populace in the Barrack’s Golf facilities; adding that the good gesture would engender effective civil military relationship.

The visit was climaxed with exchange of souvenirs and group photograph.
