GOC 81 Div Commends Nigerian Army Intelligence School For Massive Infrastructural Transformation As The School Celebrates WASA 2023 In Tego Barracks Apapa

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division Major General Mohammed Usman, who is the Special Guest of Honou (SGOH)r at the West African Social Activities (WASA) at Tego barrack, Apapa in Lagos organised by the Nigerian Army Intelligence School (NAIS) has commended the Commandant of the school Brigadier General Kingsley Nwoko for the massive renovations and transformation in the school especially in terms of structural improvement and academic excellence. He expressed his delight with the achievements recorded in the school. The GOC thereafter thanked the COAS for his continuous support and Leadership.

Earlier in his welcome address, Brigadier General Nwoko expressed his delight to the SGOH, senior officers both serving and retired and other guests for gracing the occasion. The Commandant stated that WASA creates an avenue for officers, soldiers and their families to socialize freely with one another to promote a peaceful environment and co-existence between the military and the civil communities. Brigadier General Nwoko also appraised some of the achievements of the school during the 2023 Training year amongst which are the purchase of technical equipment such as drones, surveillance equipment, forensic technical devices and the complete renovation of the School. others include the installation of Solar inverters, and electronic smart boards, an update of the school curriculum, a review of precis, introduction of new courses and improvements on computer education and driving. He observed that all the achievements are in line with the COAS Command Philosophy and expressed his satisfaction that all the NA Training directives for 2023 have been successfully achieved. He thereafter thanked the COAS, Lt Gen TA Lagbaja for his continuous support to NAIS. He also thanked the CMI(A) for his support and guidance.

The event had in attendance other guests such as the Commandant of Nigerian Army Signal School, Nigerian School of Finance and Administration, and Nigerian Army Ordnance School, Commanders of formations and units within Lagos, retired senior officers, Dy Comptroller Custom Apapa, Chairman Ajeromi LGA, heads of civil organizations and many others. Highlights of the event were cultural displays, dance, comedy, tug of war contest, presentation of awards to deserving soldiers and presentation of gifts to the SGOH and other dignitaries. Other highlights of the event were the beating of the retreat at 1800hrs and the bonfire by the SGOH.
