GOC Lauds DG NYSC For Innovations Introduced To The Scheme

The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 6 Division, Nigerian Army/ Land Component Commader, Joint Task Force, South South, Operation DELTA SAFE, Major General Jamal Abdussalam has lauded the Director General (DG), National Youth Service Corps(NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed for the level of innovations he has introduced to the scheme. He gave the commendation when the DG paid him a courtesy call at his office in Port Harcourt Barracks.

Major General Abdussalam expressed pleasure having the DG in 6 Division, adding that he appreciated the DG as a serving NA officer who is representing the NA very well in NYSC. He stated that the DG has taken the NYSC to the next level. He further maintained that NYSC is an extension of the NA given that the basic training for corps members is provided by the NA. The GOC was particularly delighted at the numerous innovations the DG has introduced to the scheme, which is also a credit to the NA.

Major General Abdussalam further said the collaboration and support given to the NYSC is duty bound while urging the DG to keep the flag flying.

Earlier, the DG appreciated the GOC for the opportunity and the level of training given to corps members during orientation camp. Speaking further, the DG said that since he assumed command, there has not been any incident, especially between the soldiers of the Division and corps members. This he said is highly appreciated.
He therefore appealed for more support in all ways possible to ensure the standard is maintained and even surpassed.

Highpoint of the visit were signing of the visitor’s book, presentation of souvenirs, group photograph, and interactive session between the DG and NYSC members serving in Port Harcourt Barracks..
