Gov Zulum Donates N50m To The Family Of Late Lt Col OC Okolo During Funeral Service In Obinofia Ndiuno In Enugu State

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has donated the sum of ₦50 million to the wife of late Lt Col OC Okolo who lost his life during Boko Haram attack at Mandaragirau in Borno state on 16 February 2026.

The Governor was represented by his Special Adviser on Security Brigadier General Abdullahi Sabi Ishaq Rtd at the Funeral Service in Obinofia Ndiuno Ezeagu LGA of Enugu State on 10 April 2026. In attendance during the funeral service were Brig Gen G A Suru representive of the Chief of Army Staff , 25 Task Force Brigade Commander Brig Gen IP Omoke who represented the Theatre Commander Operation HADIN KAI, members of NAOWA and members of the host community.

The cash donation was made on behalf of Borno State Government as part of Governor Zulum’s usual support to families of fallen heroes and those wounded-in-action in the ongoing counter-insurgency operations across Borno State.

Prof Zulum on behalf of the government and people of Borno State, “expresses his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. He reiterated that late Lt Col OC Okolo was a gallant, dedicated and committed officer of the nation whose contributions will not be forgotten,” He prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased senior officer and for God to grant his family the strength and fortitude to bear the painful loss.

The representative of the deceased family Prof Stanley Okolo thanked His Excellency for the love and concern he has shown to the family. The family members were particularly touched with the cash donation of 50m and delegation sent from Maiduguri to attend the funeral service despite the short notice. He also thanked the COAS and the GOC 82 Division for sending representatives.
