The 36 state Governors under the aegis of Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) have agreed to take the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, alongside their deputies.
Recall that the vaccines arrived Nigeria on Tuesday via an Emirates airline.
This was disclosed by Dr Kayode Fayemi after the just concluded emergency teleconference meeting of the NGF on Thursday.
The meeting had in attendance the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha; Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire; the Director-General of National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA) and the Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
He said that the vaccination would be done publicly.
Fayemi said the Governors would enlighten more Nigerians on the need to take the vaccine, which, he said, was safe.
