I Am Not Running For Kogi Governorship – Ajibulu

A businessman and stalwart of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Omoba Tunde Ajibulu has debunked reports that he has thrown his hat into the ring for the Kogi November governorship race, said he had no intention of becoming governor of the state.

Ajibulu said on the contrary, he has prepared  to support any candidate from Kogi east that can rescue the state from its present economic quagmire.

Ajibulu spoke on Saturday at his country home, Ekirin/Adde, during this year Community Day.

The Lagos based businessman also decried the label from one of the Kogi APC  factions state secretary Joshua Onoja, that he was a “Foreigner and Diaspora politician”, he said as you can see do I look like a stranger in my village? I know and love my people and they know and love me I am royalty here my late grand father was king of my town Ekinrin Adde.

He urged party members to see beyond their personal gain when choosing the party flag bearer for the November poll, said the state has suffered enough.

Further responding to Joshua Onoja he said “I’m an APC card carrying member since January 2014 registered in my village ward. I wonder when Mr Joshua onoja the state party secretary joined APC?

“I was a member of the APC presidential Campaign Council serving in the logistics department and went to campaign with president Buhari in at least 17 states! I was part of those who were sent to Anambra to conduct their congresses so while I don’t want to join issues with the Kogi APC secretary, Joshua Onoja I will advice him to do a thorough research next time instead of casting wild aspersions. Labeling me a foreigner in my state and the APC is laughable.

“Let me state categorically that I’m not running for governorship, it’s concocted rumour from the  extreme imagination of the Kogi factional APC state secretary,  Joshua Onoja, I have always posited that for the Good of APC in the November 2019 elections, the gubernatorial candidate must be from Kogi East and i will support any Kogi east candidate that emerges in the coming APC primaries.

“I call on the party members and the Kogi State people to vote their conscience in the primaries and the coming gubernatorial elections for a better Kogi state. We must disabuse our people from money politics. Please collect their money and vote your conscience,” he admonished the Kogi state people.

“Kogi must get a viable alternative to the present situation, the APC gubernatorial candidate must be a progressive from kogi east for APC to win Kogi state!

Ajibulu however made a cash donation of N150,000 to the community and announced scholarship for 100 indigents secondary school students. This is in tradition of his foundation the Omoba Babatunde Ajibulu Education Foundation that has sponsored over a thousand of students in the last 2 years across Ijumu land.

“I’m using this medium to inform the community school to make available  teachers in critical subjects that I will be responsible for their monthly salaries in order to bridge the gap of teacher’s dearth in our schools.”
