I’ll Bring Corruption Fight To Nigerian Schools – Magu

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 reiterated his resolve and that of the Commission to make the fight against economic and financial crimes more severe in Nigerian higher institutions of learning.

Hamza Ridwan, second-in-command, Maiduguri Zonal Office spoke on behalf of Magu when a delegation of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Zone C, comprising North-east and North-central zones came on a courtesy visit in Maiduguri Zonal office.

According to Magu: “The fight against corruption in the higher institutions of learning across the North-east, North-central and the country at large is not a new one to the Commission. But the Commission cannot do it alone; we need the collaboration of stakeholders like the students union representatives.

“The corruption taking place in higher institutions of learning is so alarming and we need you to notify us with facts and your identity will not be disclosed.

“When you hear complaints from academic and non-academic staff in your various institutions, you should be courageous to come and report to the Commission.”

As leaders of tomorrow, Magu urged Nigerian students to shun corruption.

“Make sure you shun corruption at this stage, because you are representing students who are the leaders of tomorrow and the general public as well.”

Comrade Sulaiman Muhammad Sarki (CNS), coordinator, NANS Zone C, while appreciating the tireless and giant strides of the EFCC boss in the fight against economic and financial crimes in the country, informed Magu of the efforts of NANS Zone C in trying to organize an anti-corruption summit with the theme “The Dangers of Corruption and the Role of the Youth in the Fight against Graft.”
