Investigation Reveals Legendary Singer, Prince Died of Opioid Overdose

The official cause of death of legendary singer, Prince who died on April 21, has been released. The singer who was found unresponsive in his Minnesota home is said to have died of an opioid overdose.

A Criminal Investigation was launched into the cause of Prince’s death in May by the U.S. Attorney’s office and Drug Enforcement using blood samples given that the singer was cremated a few days after his death.

The United States Drug Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)  has launched a criminal investigation into the doctors who prescribed drugs  to late iconic singer, Prince who died on 21 April.

According to TMZ, law enforcement executed a search warrant of Prince’s Paisley Park mansion in Minnesota and are conducting the probe under a series of federal laws targeting doctors who sell prescription drugs to abusers especially since Andrew Kornfield, the son of Prince’s rehab doctor, crossed state lines to violate prescription law as he reportedly flew into Minnesota with a backpack full of synthetic opiates and was in the singer’s home when Prince died. Andrew Kornfield is said to be a person of interest in the DEA’s investigation.

Dr. Howard  Kornfield, a  doctor who specialises in the treatment of opioid addiction and saw the “purple rain” crooner twice before his death has been questioned by detectives while his son Andrew Kornfield remains a person of interest in the ongoing investigation as he reportedly flew into Minnesota with a backpack full of synthetic opiates, and was in the singer’s home when Prince died.
