IPOB Leader, Nnamdi Kanu Reacts To Invasion Of His Home By Nigerian Army
The Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu has reacted to yesterday’s ‘invasion’ of his home in Isiama Afara, Umuahia, Abia State by men of the Nigerian army. He said the Cheif of Army staff, General Tukur Buratai and his men wants them to take up arms. He, however, posited that they would remain peaceful despite the army’s advances.
In a series of videos posted on twitter by Sahara Reporters Mazi Nnamdi Kanu addressed members of the press at the same resident which the army allegedly invaded. He cliamed to have been sleeping when the military men came to his home and began shooting. He said the military personnel initially left and then, later came back and tried to gain entrance into his father’s palace but were prevented by some IPOB supporters.
He said three people were shot and were currently receiving treatment in some secure locations. He also denied the statement by the Nigerian Army, saying the Army is used to lying to cover up their failures. He then walked with the journalist to where the incident happened, which he stated was a couple of meters away from his father’s palace.
When asked about the outcome of his meeting with the southeast governors, Nnamdi Kanu refrained from giving a response stating that the pressing issue at hand is the lives of the people shot by the army.
