Intelligence have gathered that ISWAP terrorists on Monday August 2 blocked the Maiduguri-Damaturu, and abducted several commuters in the process.
Sources disclose that the abducted commuters were inside a black Hummer vehicle and a Honda accord.
Meanwhile, Nigerian Soldiers engaged some ISWAP terrorists at Kareto village in a gun duel that lasted for two hours.
It was gathered that stray bullets fired during the encounter damaged civilian vehicles that were commuting at that time, inflicting injuries on them.
Casualties recorded during the ambush include; one soldier KIA, eight WIA and one MIA.
