Katsina state governor, Aminu Masari, on Friday accused his predecessor, Ibrahim Shema, of selling to himself state vehicles worth N400 million just before leaving office.

Can you imagine a car of N78 million bought in 2014 was sold for just N3 million, another N10 million vehicle for N990,000. This is disturbing,” Masari said.

While interacting with newsmen, Governor Masari said all the vehicles sold by former Governor Shema to himself and his cronies, were less than two years old but were sold at ninety percent depreciation values.

The former governor was equally accused of personalising Katsina state government houses and property in choice locations in Kaduna and Abuja.  Governor Masari however stated his resolve to reclaim all the stolen assets of the state.

We have so many of them; we are just taking our time and we shall soon make them public.

Several elders and elites of the state had tried to mediate between us but to no avail as the present government insists that all funds missing should be refunded while the former government is maintaining its position that it did nothing wrong,” he said.
