Kelechi Iheanancho Set for £25m Leicester City Switch
Nigerian international, Kelechi Iheanacho, is on the verge of completing a £25 million transfer to Leicester City from Premier League powerhouse Manchester City.
The British press is awash with reports that Iheanacho, 20, is in advanced talks with the Foxes ahead of the 2017/18 Premier League campaign.
If the move materializes, Iheanacho, who has been listed in City’s squad for their pre-season tour of the United States, will team up with Super Eagles teammates Ahmed Musa and Wilfred Ndidi at the King Power stadium.
The former youth international burst onto the scene with promise under former City boss Manuel Pellegrini, but found himself frozen out at the Etihad last season under Catalan coach, Pep Guardiola.
After a bright start to the campaign that saw him score the winner in the Manchester derby at Old Trafford, Kelechi Iheanacho soon found himself out of favour following the arrival of Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus in January.
He had an impressive return of 21 goals in 64 games in all competitions since making his debut for Manchester City in 2015, and will become Leicester City’s second major recruit this summer after the club announced the capture of Sevilla midfielder Vicente Iborra earlier this week.
