Red carpet moments from The C.E.O première at MMIA:

Described as one of the ‘helmers lensing pics with broader appeal’ by the magazine, Kunle revealed that despite the problem of piracy in Nollywood, he remains dedicated to his maturing craft and will continue to work hard to bring the best to the Nigerian movie industry.  “I am surviving,” he said.  “For me, it’s about the film,” he added. “It’s about making films for my kind of audience — from Africa, from anywhere.” He also talked about working on movies in other countries that are not inspired by Nigerian stories.

The C.E.O, which is Kunle’s fifth feature film, tells the story of a company whose CEO nominates five employees for a leadership retreat where they undergo series of twisted games for the next Ceo to be chosen.  Shot in different locations around the world, The C.E.O features Haitian thespian Jimmy Jean-Louis, Moroccan pop star Ahmed Soultan, and Grammy Award-winning singer Angélique Kidjo.

Afolayan stated that he is confident the movie will offer a bit of escapism for Nigerians, especially with the current economic issues in the country.
