Late Shagaya Will Be Remembered As A Brave Soldier, Detribalised Nigerian and Resourceful Politician – APC Chieftain

Tunde Ajibulu, a  chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)  has described the death of Gen. John Shagaya as a terrible loss to the party and Nigeria as a country who will be remembered as a brave soldier, a resourceful politician and a detribalised Nigerian.

According to him, the late Shagaya who died in a road accident in Amper, Kanke Local Government of Plateau, on Sunday still had a lot to offer Nigeria.

In a condolence message to the Governor, family and people of Plateau state, Ajibulu, who is a family friend to the Shagayas, said the death of the retired General and former senator of the Federal Republic is a terrible shock as he was hale and hearty until the unfortunate ghastly accident that claimed his life.

According to him, the late Shagaya will be remembered as a patriot, brave soldier, highly resourceful politician and detribalised Nigerian who gave his best towards ensuring the unity and development of Nigeria both in the military and politics.

He added that the wealth of experience of Shagaya, who was a staunch loyalist of the APC will be missed especially as the party prepares for another general election in the coming days.

“Gen. John Nanzip Shagaya ‘s death is a terrible shock and loss for Nigeria as a nation and APC as a political organisation” .

“ He was a patriot serving Nigeria on different levels as a soldier as a politician and as a statesman. He was recently appointed board chairman of the prestigious Nigerian think tank National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru a testament to how cerebral he was , he still had so much to give Nigeria but God has the final say”

“My heart goes out to his family to my very dear friend and comrade his oldest son, Colonel Nansak Shagaya and his siblings considering they buried their matriarch, Mrs Pauline Shagaya last year”.

“May God grant them the fortitude to bear this loss. My heartfelt condolence goes to the governor and people of Plateau particularly the people of Langtang who just lost one of their most  illustrious son. May his soul rest in peace”
