Since Beyoncé’s dropped her visual album, Lemonade a few days ago, social media has been buzzing with questions from fans about the award-winning singer’s marriage and personal life as a whole.

From everyone trying to figure out who Jay-Z’s alleged side chick, ‘Becky with the good hair’ is, to speculations about the rapper’s true relationship with artiste, Rita Ora, Beyoncé’s Lemonade keeps stirring up contoversy each passing day. And now, Beyonce’s dad and former manager, Matthew Knowles is shutting down any speculation about part of the narrative in Lemonade being about him.

While speaking on the Mark Thompson’s Sirius XM show Make It Plain recently, Matthew addressed the spoken word poem that Beyoncé recited during the “Accountability” segment of her one hour-long feature. Beyoncé had read a few lines written by Somali-British poet Warsan Shire before singing the track Daddy Lessons . The poem read: “Did he convince you that he was God? … Are you a slave to the back of his hand? Am I talking about your husband or your father?”. People naturally began to speculate that she was referring to her father especially with their rocky relationship in the past; recall Beyoncé sacked her dad as her manager when she began to notice money missing from her accounts? However Matthew states that the track is definitely not about him.

“I can say I have never in my life hit my daughter,” he said. “So she has never been a slave to the back of my hand because I didn’t believe in that.”

Matthew also added that he was very proud of Bey’s Lemonade and called it probably her best body of work. He talked about the complexity of the album, stating that there’s no way anyone can get into the mind of Beyoncé to decypher what the album is really about.

Meanwhile, PEOPLE magazine reports that Beyonce almost broke up with rapper husband Jay Z, the couple are now stronger.

“They definitely went through a rough patch a couple years ago, but they came out stronger in the end,” PEOPLE magazine reports, confirming that the infidelity theme of the album really happened, but that the famous singer chose to forgive her husband. The magazine added that the couple almost split up in 2014 after the leaked video of Solange Knowles whooping Jay Z surfaced.

“I think they almost wanted to prove to everyone that they wouldn’t break up,” the magazine added.

Also, the latest victim of the #Beyhive attack, Rita Ora has responded to accusations that she may have been the one Jay Z cheated on Beyonce with. See her tweets below:

Will the Beyhive let her be, though?

Lemonade is said to be submitted by HBO for an Emmy consideration.
