Mayweather v McGregor: Tyson Fury Predicts 35 Seconds KO for UFC King
Contrary to popular opinion, Tyson Fury has tipped UFC star Conor McGregor to floor boxing champ Floyd Mayweather in 35 seconds when they take to the rink in their eagerly anticipated fight.
After exchanging barbs for over a year, Mayweather and McGregor will finally hit the canvas in Las Vegas on August 26 for an estimated £500 million megafight that many have written off as a spectacle given the boxer’s unbeaten record.
But maverick former world heavyweight champion Fury expects a different outcome from the grudge fight, Mirror writes.
“I think McGregor will do him in one round,” he told iFL TV.
“I think he will knock him out inside the first 35 seconds like he did to Jose Aldo, to be honest.
“It would be good for boxing if McGregor chinned him. It would be great for the real people of the world.”
Fury’s faith notwithstanding, pound-for-pound king Mayweather still comes in as the heavy favourite for bookmakers, experts and even middleweight monster Chris Eubank Jr., who believes it will be a one-sided affair.
“This is going to be the biggest sporting spectacle of the year and the whole world will be watching. For that reason, I will be there ringside taking it all in,” he said.
“Do I believe it will be competitive, probably not – no.”
His thoughts have been echoed by boxing legend Roberto Duran, who said: “Mayweather will beat him. McGregor is a clown.
“A wrestler of that size won’t do anything to Mayweather.”
This fight can’t come soon enough.
