Movie Stars, Musicians, Activists Stage #RescueTheGirls Walk in Lagos

#RescueTheGirls Walk in Lagos. A rally in Lagos today attracted Afrobeat musician, Femi Kuti, Yoruba movie star, Jide Kosoko, leader of Women Arise civil society group, Joe Okei-Odumakin. Several activists and entertainment artistes on parade include Iyabo Ojo, Ayo Badmus, Doris Simon, Foluke Daramola and several activists and entertainment artistes. The group staged a walk to the Lagos State Government secretariat in Ikeja as part of a growing movement that has intensified a campaign for the return of 234 girls abducted in Chibok Local Government area of Borno State.

The girls were abducted from a boarding school dormitory as they were finishing their final exams. Nigerian Islamist militant group Boko Haram paraded the girls on a video released earlier today.
