NACOLM Embarks On Study Visit To 174 Battalion Ikorodu
In continuation with the operational package organized for students of Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM) for realistic training and human capacity development, 30 students of Logistics Management Course (LMC) 21/23 led by Faculty Members headed by the Chief Instructor Management and General Studies Department Colonel U Ogueri (rtd) embarked on a study tour visit to 174 Battalion (Bn) in Ikorodu, Lagos on 7 September 2023.
The visit which was organized as a follow up to the series of classroom lectures on Peace Support Operations (PSO) with a view to enhancing students’ understanding of Contingent Owned Equipment (COE) in a peacekeeping environment.
Similarly, the event was to familiarize the students with the United Nations (UN) approved standard of COE, acquaint students with the duties of staff officers in preparation for PSO at unit level and to practice the students on how to critically assess the operational readiness of a unit as well as to secure UN reimbursement if the UN Approved standard is not met.
Highlights of the event include inspection of Quarter Guard, brief by the Commanding Officer 174 Bn Lieutenant Colonel MI Abdulrahman on the UN Table of Equipment (TOE) for a unit earmarked for PSO, Interactive session, presentation of souvenir and a group photograph to climax the event.
