NADCEL 2023: 35 Brigade Provides Medical Succor In Ogun State

In fulfilment of her Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR), the Nigerian Army has provided free medical intervention for about 500 members of Ijaye Titun Community and environs in the South Western part of Ogun State as part of activities lined up to commemorate the week long Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) 2023.

The free medical outreach was organised and conducted on Wednesday, 5 July, 2023 by Headquarters 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala. While flagging off the event, the Commander, 35 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Mohammed Tajudeen Aminu outlined the significance of the occasion which he said is in commemoration of the NA 160th anniversary and in remembrance of the fallen heros who have taken part in various operations and campaigns both in Nigeria and globally to ensure maintenance of global peace and security. In his words ” We also honour our personnel who have fought and those still fighting to keep our dear nation one and safe”. During this period, the NA consider it very important to give back to our communities particularly the host communities in an effort to improve on the existing civil -military relationship.

In appreciation, the Onijaye of Ijaye community, Oba Nafi’u Adeyemi Otumba expressed overwhelming joy and gratitude to the NA for choosing to host the event in his community which has glaringly brought joy and unprecedented happiness in the hearts and minds of indigenes. According to him “the people of Alamala will remain indebted to the Nigerian Army for sending a high compact professionals to provide such quality medical intervention especially at a time like this. He therefore offered prayers for the COAS on his appointment and commended the unparalleled victory of the NA in all their activities and operations across the nation.

Similarly, the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) 35 Brigade chapter visited Stella Obasanjo Orphanage/Children Home at Ibara and donated some food items. Moreso, officers and soldiers of the Brigade on Tuesday, 4 July 2023 conducted Environmental Sanitation exercise along Lafenwa- Rounda Road in Abeokuta all as part of the celebration.

The weeklong events also featured Special Jumaat Prayers at the 35 Brigade Central Mosque, Interdenominational Church Service at St Micheal Church Alamala Barracks. Additionally, the Brigade also conducted Public Speaking Engagement at Agunbiade Victory Hight School Oke-Mosan where personnel interacted with the students and thereafter make a donations of some educational materials to the school.
