NASPRI Inaugurates Strategic Communication Other Courses – As DAPR Urges Students To Prepare For Greater Responsibilities
The Acting Director Army Public Relations Colonel Appolonia Anele has charged participants and students of the First Quarter 2026 courses to fully prepare themselves for the greater responsibilities that lie ahead as they officially commenced their training.
Col Anele gave the charge during the formal inauguration ceremony held at the Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja Auditorium, Muhammadu Buhari Cantonment, Giri, Abuja.
Represented by the Acting Commandant NASPRI Lt Colonel Shuaib Umar, the DAPR emphasized that contemporary counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations in Nigeria are largely information-driven. He explained that this reality informed the careful design of the courses, which are structured to equip participants with the requisite mindset, skills, and professionalism needed to effectively manage information in today’s complex security environment.
He further urged the students to take full advantage of the wealth of experience and expertise offered by the school’s instructors, stressing that commitment, focus, and active participation would be key to achieving the desired training outcomes. He also cautioned the students to remain disciplined at all times and strictly adhere to the school’s Standarding Operating Procedures as well as the core values of the Nigerian Army, noting that NASPRI operates a zero-tolerance policy for indiscipline.
The Acting Commandant used the occasion to express his deep appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff for the continuous support and confidence reposed in NASPRI, which he noted has significantly enhanced the school’s capacity to effectively carry out its mandate. He also extended his gratitude to the Director of Army Public Relations for the sustained support the school has continued to enjoy.
Earlier in the ceremony, the Chief Instructor of NASPRI, Major Nureni Alimi, outlined the expectations of the courses, stressing that the programmes are prerequisites for career progression within the Nigerian Army. He therefore encouraged the students to remain focused, actively participate in all training activities, and diligently meet all course requirements.
The First Quarter 2026 courses include the Strategic Communication Course 3, A1 Photography Course 10, and A3 Video Operations Course 17 respectively, all of year 2026.
Highlights of the event included the formal inauguration of the courses and group photographs featuring the Acting Commandant and the newly inaugurated students in front of the NASPRI office complex.
