New Perm Sec Aduda Praises Nigerian Air Force Collaboration, Pledges Strong Support

The new Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence (MOD), Ambassador Gabriel Tanimu Aduda, has praised the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) for its enhanced collaboration with sister Services in addressing insecurity across the nation. During his maiden visit to NAF Headquarters on 9 January 2024, Ambassador Aduda expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to improving the welfare and operational capabilities of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

In his remarks, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, described the current dispensation in the NAF as a “Golden Era” under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR. He highlighted the delivery of 14 advanced aircraft in 2024, part of 64 expected within three years, and commended the MOD’s support in bolstering NAF’s operational readiness. The CAS also thanked the Permanent Secretary for his visit and assured him of sustained collaboration to strengthen national security.

The visit featured a wreath-laying ceremony at the NAF Memorial Arcade in honour of Fallen Heroes and the presentation of a commemorative souvenir to Ambassador Aduda. The occasion underscored the importance of synergy between the MOD and the NAF in achieving national security objectives.
