Nigerian Actor, Yemi Solade Accused Of Sexual Misconduct
Yet another Nollywood figurehead has been named in the ongoing sexual assault scandals rocking movie industries all over the world, and this time it is actor Yemi Solade.
Drama started when Instagrammer Enny Gold took to her Instagram to share her alleged sexual assault experience with filmmaker Yomi Fabiyi which she alleges happened nine years ago, a claim Fabiyi has expressly denied.
Shortly after that news caught major attention on social media, another Instagram user, Lawal Dolapo shared her own experience with famous Yoruba actor, Yemi Solade.
Writing on Instagram, Dolapo claimed that she contacted Solade through his BBM to share her dream of becoming an actress. Solade immediately replied her message, she claimed, and instructed her to meet him at an address around Ajah, Lagos. Lawal says she crosschecked the address and found that the location was actually a guesthouse. Unsettled by this, she told the actor that she actually sees him as a father, a dampening attempt he allegedly waved away.
“I said, ‘sir, you are like my father’ (I was about 20yrs old then), uncle said and I quote ‘I know my children, and you are not one. If you want a role, then come’,” Lawal Dolapo wrote in her post.
She assumed the actor wanted sex, hence why he was inviting her to a guesthouse and not a proper office address. “If I’ll sleep with a man for something, then it’s not going to be something I can get by myself,” Dolapo continued in her story, adding “The same man that flaunts his family on his page? That day I told myself, these Nollywood actors can never be trusted.”
Yemi Solade is not pleased with this accusation and has hinted that he will be slamming his accuser with a lawsuit.
