
Nigerian Air Force Strengthens Strategic Engagement As NIPSS Governing Council Chairman Visits Chief Of Air Staff
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has continued to deepen its strategic engagement with key national institutions as the Chairman of the Governing Council of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Senator Ken Nnamani, paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) at the Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, Abuja, on Tuesday, 16 December 2025. The visit provided an opportunity for high-level discussions on national security, strategic leadership, and the critical role of policy-driven solutions in addressing contemporary security challenges confronting the nation.
Welcoming the delegation, the CAS, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke reaffirmed the NAF’s commitment to sustained collaboration with strategic policy institutions in line with his Command Philosophy of building a highly motivated, professional, and mission-ready force capable of delivering decisive airpower effects in synergy with surface forces. According to the CAS, “engagements with institutions such as NIPSS strengthen strategic thinking, enrich policy perspectives, and enhance our collective capacity to respond effectively to evolving security challenges.” He noted that such partnerships support informed decision-making and contribute meaningfully to the attainment of Nigeria’s national security objectives.
In his remarks, Senator Ken Nnamani commended the Nigerian Air Force for its professionalism and sustained contributions to national security, noting that closer interaction between policy institutions and the Armed Forces remains vital to strategic stability. He stated that “NIPSS remains committed to fostering constructive engagement with the Armed Forces to ensure that policy formulation is guided by operational realities and strategic foresight.” The CAS further assured Nigerians of the NAF’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property, stressing that the Service will continue to operate within the highest standards of professionalism, in collaboration with sister Services and relevant institutions, to safeguard the nation’s peace, unity, and territorial integrity.
